About You
The successful candidate will:
- be a Physics specialist – it is essential you can teach Physics to KS5
- have a passion to enthuse students using expertise in the field of Science
- be outgoing, flexible and adaptable to cope with demands of the role;
- have a commitment to professional development;
- have experience of working with children;
- have the ability to manage a whole classroom environment.
- be a form tutor and support the academic and pastoral development of your tutor group;
- a passion for extra-curricular / enrichment activities.

The Team
Science at Bridlington is a well-resourced department with 8 labs, 2 prep rooms and 8 teachers. We are very proud of our curriculum and how it is designed to spiral our students learning and teach them to become the scientists of the future. As a department we lead on whole school priorities and are extremely passionate about everything Teaching and Learning. Collaboration is key to the success of our department and this includes the planning of resources and CPD to ensure we remain at the top of our game. Extracurricular activities are a fundamentalpart of our department and we run successful STEM, ECO and Study Skills Clubs. The department is support by 2 technicians and 3 teaching assistants all of who are extremely enthusiastic and form an integral part of our team.
As a Deputy Director in Science, you can expect a wealth of experience to work with within the team – the Associate Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher for Aspirations and ECT Leader all work in this department.

This provides opportunity to be involved in transition and outreach work, but also connections with peers across the local area.
