What skills and experience we're looking for
Knowledge & Experience
- Some knowledge of speech and language development and difficulties in children
- An understanding of the role of a Speech and Language Therapist and other professionals working with children with speech and language difficulties
- An understanding of confidentiality
- Knowledge of standards of record keeping
- Experience as a SLT assistant or similar role, including working with children
- Working within a range of educational settings
- Working with groups
- Working to programmes set by a SLT
- Basic knowledge of the Children Act, 1993 Education Act, the Code of Practice and current issues within education
Key Skills & Criteria
- Adapting/making equipment
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Car driver
- Good computer skills
- Developed auditory and perceptual skills
- Participate in INSET days and attend courses for professional development
